WHAT WE SEE DEPENDS ON....

DEBENHAMS - FIND THE GOLDEN HANGER AND GET 75% OFF

For three days only! Starting Thursday July 5 till Saturday July 7 at Debenhams. Find the golden hanger and enjoy the golden opportunity to get 75% off over any one sale item. And if you find more golden hangers, then you are pretty lucky. Last year, when they had this offer, I was surprised to see quite a number customers with golden hangers at the pay counter!!!!  I didn't find any golden hanger. Maybe I wasn't observant enough! The golden hangers are usually spread out amidst the mens womens and children's clothing sections. You have to search, you have to be sharp, and if you wear glasses, don't forget them before you head to Debenhams. Good luck! Take children along for help. They are more sharp and quicker than adults. LOL.

EMOTIONAL EATING

Say no to emotional eating. If you are facing a difficult time or under stress, finding comfort in food will only temporarily make you feel good.  It's not going to make your problem any less, except it's going to add on it, the weight, stress on your digestive system,  plus guilt of overeating. Watch your thoughts, exercise restrain on your temptations so you don't become enslaved to overeating.

TRAVEL - WASHINGTON D.C.

If you plan to visit the east coast of U.S.A, a visit to Washington D.C.  is a  must. You will have  an amazing experience, with lots of places of interest to visit and things to do. The visit would require at least two days of stay to be able to enjoy Washington D.C. Some of the places we visited during our recent trip, are Capitol, Monument, Botanical Gardens, American Indian Museum, Air and Space Museum.  My husband and I drove around different streets at the end of the day, so we could see as many places as possible and the view at night is beautiful. We had only half a day really, as our visit to Washington D.C. was short.  I really wish we had spent more time in DC, hopefully next time. There are lots of museums you can visit, each offering a  unique experience. There are plenty of restaurants everywhere. Start early, so you can cover as many places as possible before 5pm. Museums and Art Galleries close at 5pm. And the city becomes quiet too after offices get over at 5pm. It's tough finding a paid parking spot if you have a rental car. You can literally forget about finding free parking spots. They'll all be somehow taken anyway. Parking places have strict timings and if you don't take out your car on time, your vehicle can get towed away. Read the signs carefully wherever you intend to park. For a touritst, the best way to tour Washington D.C., is to go on a guided tour, or take a hop on hop off bus or  hop on - hop off trolley to visit all the places you like. Spring and summer are the best times to visit. Plan your trip early so you can decide which places to visit. Once you arrive in D.C., pick up the official visitors map as it will be very useful and it will guide you towards all the wonderful places to visit.

Here are some pictures I took of the city, as we moved about. Will put up museum pictures in another post.

ENERGY BOOSTERS

We are told the importance of healthy food for energy and well being. Well, apart from food, our emotions and attitudes need a boost. How can we do that..Here are some simple things we can do.

* Open the curtains in the morning, let in the sunlight. Have your breakfast with the sunlight pouring into your room through the window.

* Go for an early morning walk or a walk before sunset.

* During weekends, take a stroll by the beach. Sea has an amazing effect on mind and energy levels.

* Call up a cheerful friend in whose company, you can laugh, feel energised and happy

* Read a nice quote or an inspirational message and let that guide you for that day.

* Say an affirmation in your mind. Make a decision to do your best and not to let any obstacles or people dissapoint you.

* Do something you really enjoy...

* If you feel lethargic, lazy or sleepy, smell a piece of cut lime or lemon

* Do meditation, yoga or some form of exercise in the morning before heading for the shower. It wakens up the senses and makes you feel energised.

* Take a shower using a fragrant shower gel or soap, followed by dabbing on some nice smelling body lotion. Smell has a great effect on the mood.

* Before you leave for work, dab your favourite perfume, nothing strong;  citrus for men, floral/fruity for women

* Put on some good music. Not rock or rap or heavy metal, but something soothing in the morning, before you head to work or start your day at home.

* Say a prayer. Be thankful for all the blessings. A sense of gratitude empowers you, boosts your energy and you will attract all that is good.

* Be protective about your time. Don't spend it with toxic people. The less you interact with overly critical people and whiners and chronic complainers, your energy will not get sucked or depleted.

* Smile more, laugh more often.

WHAT DETERMINES SUCCESS

U.S.A CELEBRATES 4TH OF JULY

Wishing all Americans a beautiful 4th of July as America celebrates independence day.

HAT MADE WITH TEA CUPS AND TART

I think this hat looks really pretty. It would be a 'No' if it came to wearing something like this. But I admire the creativity in unique, strange or bold ideas designers come up with,  in any form of art. And it does take a bit of courage to wear something like this, and walk around without letting the weight or the size of the hat or the content bother you.

SWIMMING FOR LEISURE FUN AND EXERCISE

Swimming besides a great form of exercise, is also relaxing, because water provides therapeutical benefits and relieves stress. Now that's its summer, and  it's so hot outside, what better way to beat the heat and yet have fun. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor swimming pools in Kuwait or you can even swim in the beaches where it's safe. And before you head for swimming, check out the swim wear in Marks and Spencer, Debenhams and Bhs. They have a great collection in beautiful colors and designs. Now if you don't know to swim, why not join a swimming class. Don't worry about your age or if you are scared of water. They will teach you in the shallow area first and until you are ready and confident to swim in the deeper area of the pool. And in a month or two you will be swimming like a fish.
